Links

Following are some links to sites that I have found to be useful to me. A lot of them contain valuable free stuff.

Education Stuff
During the years that I worked full-time in Christian education, I developed a number of documents to help school procedures flow smoothly.  This page lists a few of them.

Missions In Haiti
Katie's brother David and his wife Alicia are missionaries to Haiti.  They operate a children's home with about 30 children and conduct various other ministries in and around Port-au-Prince.

e-Sword
e-Sword is the most outstanding Bible software program I have ever seen, and it is absolutely free. It comes with multiple translations of the Bible, commentaries, dictionaries, maps, and even some classic books. It's even got a place for typing your own notes. I use e-Sword to prepare for sermons, because I can look up Scriptures quickly, cross-reference, and study commentaries all in one place. Plus, I can have all my sermon notes in one place, with each sermon linked to its main text. You only have to download the parts you want.

Frontline Fellowship
Dr. Peter Hammond of South Africa is an awesome Christian and a great historian, author, and Bible teacher, and a particularly bold missionary. Frontline Fellowship is the organization he started in an effort to minister to African nations. They distribute Bibles, Christian literature, and material goods throughout Africa while holding various discipleship seminars and workshops, including the Great Commission Course. Frontline Fellowship's website is a great source for articles on topics such as evangelism, Biblical worldview, missions, politics, the Ten Commandments, and gun control, as well as Peter Hammond's own critiques of some popular movies.

Plugged In Online
If you're one of those responsible parents who likes to know what your kids are really seeing at the movies and on TV, and what they're really listening to on the radio, Plugged In Online is for you. It reviews the movies, TV shows, and music that bombard our young people. I don't always agree with all the conclusions the reviewers derive, but they do a good job of listing every positive and every negative aspect of each film. When you're used to seeing all the garbage on the screen, you don't notice it that much. But when someone puts it all down in print, a lot of movies are revealed to be the filth they really are. Before you let your kids rent that next DVD, check out the content first.

TruthOrFiction.com
Before you forward an email with a subject such as "Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: You won't believe this--but it's true!"--go to TruthOrFiction.com and check the email's validity. Many of the proposterous stories I've read are either twisted truths or just utter lies. Check out TruthOrFiction.com to see whether a story--even a warm fuzzy story with a bit of shallow spiritual truth--is true before forwarding it to everyone in your address book.
